Together, Julia Ito and Utum Yang, two passionate musicians, founded "Duo Fantasia". In their concerts, they offer a wide range of programs, from Baroque to Classical and Romantic to Modern. The artists want to stimulate their audience mentally and propose thematic focuses in guest performances.
Utum Yang, born in 1986 and raised in South Korea.He graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich in 2007 with an artistic Diploma. This qualified him for postgraduate studies with Prof. Marianne Henkel and Prof. András Adorján, which he completed in 2012. During his school years, Utum Yang successfully participated in international competitions throughout Europe, winning many prizes.
In concerts, he appears both as a soloist and together with Julia Ito in the "Duo Fantasia". For solo performances with orchestra Utum Yang has a number of flute concerts in his repertoire, such as Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, W.A., Mozart, George Frederick Telemann, Johann Joachim Quantz or Antonio Vivaldi. He has also dealt extensively with contemporary compositions, for example by J. Ibert and Adam Khachaturian. She received her pianistic training at the Academy of Music and Theater in Munich, where she graduated with a Diploma in 2007 and the Masterclass in 2011 under Prof. Gitti Pirner. She regularly received special prizes at international competitions, including winning the international Lions Competition in Kassel in 2006, combined with a special Bärenreiter Prize, which included inviting her to give solo and orchestral concerts in Kronberg, Kassel and Paris.For solo performances with orchestra Julia Ito has a wide repertoire with works by Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin or Liszt.
